Hickory Ridge High School
Hickory Ridge High School is a comprehensive public high school in Harrisburg, North Carolina. It became the sixth high school in the Cabarrus County Schools system when it opened on August 27, 2007. It has been designated an Honor School of Excellence for 2008-2009, 2009-2010, and 2010-2011. This is the third consecutive year the school has achieved this designation, North Carolina's highest distinction, by the North Carolina Board of Education. It is one of only four traditional high schools in the state to receive this honor.
==Student Body==
The student body consists of students in grades 9-12, with about 350 students per grade. The 2011-2012 school year was the fifth year of the school, 2010-2011 was the first year without students from feeder high schools Jay M. Robinson High School and Central Cabarrus High School. Enrollment fluctuates around 1,300 students, with a listed capacity of 1,500.〔http://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/domain/103〕
The Class of 2010 was the last class to graduate from Hickory Ridge that incorporated students from two feeder schools originally used to filter students into Hickory Ridge from the surrounding area that included Central Cabarrus High School and Jay M. Robinson High School.
The Class of 2009 was the first graduating class of Hickory Ridge High School. Graduation occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 4pm in the Cabarrus Arena.
